Traveling the Tropics…
“Live Where They Treat You Best.”
The Nomad Capitalist
A glimpse of places along my path
as I explore the tropics
in search of a better place to live.
The nearby (dormant) volcano…
The continental divide with cattle-grazing area just beyond the fence…
A local Hostel which has both a hotel and private “Hobbit Houses”…
The Pacific Ocean with black sand
(from the volcanic lava)…
A nearby swimming hole in a warm-water river filled with flat-rocks…
Yes, they have running water. Downstream, women were washing clothes on the rocks…
Water is everywhere — it’s a cloud-forest area and also the rainy season, which lasts from May until November. Sometimes there are torrential downpours, but just for a couple of hours each day.
Here’s the river running through the center of this simple mountain-town where it’s approximately 70-75F all year long.
A portion of the view from my front-porch where I’m currently staying…
Rainy season. Lots of time to sit in the rocking chair on the porch and read.
Lunch on the front porch:
Organic Romaine, avocado, tomato, celery, spinach
A most productive day.
This town is surrounded by mountains.
A wooden statue in the Town Square — a 90-second walk from my front-door…
A Town Park where I’m currently visiting…
Ten minutes before the afternoon rains;
a 6-minute walk from my front porch.
